DOPE Life | Gina Karaba
One of the only female glassblowers in the Pacific Northwest to own her own studio, Gina Karaba didn’t plan on being a glassblower; like many of life’s happiest accidents, it just sort of happened that way. Drawn to Seattle for its well-known glass community, Karaba was inspired by local artists and taught college courses before deciding to open her own shop, preferring to forge her own path rather than navigate the bureaucracy of higher education. She currently boasts a successful line of nug jars, marbles and more through Karaba Art Glass, available online and at their stand in Seattle’s iconic Pike Place Market.
